
Our Fine Art and Antique Sale on the 23rd of May contains several fine collections of pictures by contemporary artists. In this forth article we shall preview works by Liam Spencer.
Liam Spencer is one of the most important northern artists of his generation and is best known for his urban landscapes, particularly Manchester and Salford, depicting familiar street scenes, canals and industrial buildings.
Liam was born in 1964, predominantly produces oils, paintings what he sees on the street. Painting fairly broadly with big brushes, Liam likes to depict daily scenes that the human eye just glances at, thus capturing ‘Big Impressions’ within his paintings.
Liam Spencer established his reputation as one of the foremost British artists of his time, in 2000 he exhibited the prestigious opening of the Lowry in Salford, his work is widely collected and appears in may major collections.
